    What
    This Play Yoga Play program for 3-5 year old children is inspired by the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (referred to from here as the Framework). The Framework states that learning about healthy emotions is integral to wellbeing and resilience.  The program aims to develop emotional resilience in the children by teaching them to identify their emotions, and use calm breathing to self regulate.  In addition, the program also teaches children a Yoga Sun salutation sequence, which develops the children physically, focusing on the integration of sensory, motor and cognitive systems for organized, controlled physical activity for both purpose and enjoyment. Some key yoga poses are introduced in a fun way to provide a foundation for yoga practice and spark an interest in the child to practice yoga again.

    Child Supervision
    During all sessions, your child will be supervised by two adults with relevant qualifications including WWCC (working with children checks). Having parents in the studio can impact the children’s experience during sessions, yet there is a seated area that you are welcome in, as we do understand you may like to stay and observe sessions. Alternatively, you are welcome to drop your kid(s) of and use the time as you please. There are great café’s around the corner (e.g. Three Bags Full and Weylandts) if you’d like a well deserved break while your little one(s) learn yoga!

    JASMIN WOOD - Yoga Teacher

    Yoga transformed my life. I was a hyperactive kid. Very hyperactive! As a kid and young adult, my fiery temper used to get me into trouble. I remember feeling what felt like fire in the pit of my tummy, exploding through my mouth and hands and before I knew it, I was in trouble again. It was this same ‘unharnessed’ energy that I saw in my three-year- old Goddaughter years ago, which inspired me to teach yoga to children.
    I have now had over 6 years experience teaching children’s fitness and yoga and have found my passion is teaching yoga for 3-5 year olds. I use play based methodology to engage children through yoga poses, games, stories, song, dance, breathing techniques, relaxation, and craft. I draw from my life experiences and what I have learned through completing Foundation and Advanced Children’s Yoga TT’s, Children’s Yoga as Therapy TT, Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training, L1 Master Certificate in Personal Training and Group Fitness, Certificates in L1 & L2 Reiki, and BA in Communication.
    I imagine a world where family, friends and all people can access yoga and mindfulness techniques to smooth the way with every day challenges from early childhood onwards.
